Canterbury Seed is a major producer and marketer of cereals in New Zealand.

Wheat
Through various breeding programmes, Canterbury Seed is involved in developing new cultivars for the flour and feed milling industries. We currently trial English bred varieties with a view to establishing them in New Zealand. Our relationship with two major flour millers enables us to research and introduce new cultivars.

Barley
Canterbury Seed contracts growers for the supply of barley to large feed manufacturers and local feedlots. We also have extensive experience in out-of-season barley multiplications for European cereal breeders.
We are also suppliers of Malting barley for export to the brewing industry.

Oats/Chaff
Canterbury Seed is a significant trader in oats and chaff supplying New Zealand's horse-breeding and racing industry.
